Subject: AEI Apparent Inconsistency on Appeasing Communist China
Mr. Mazza and Ms. Rodman -
It has been nearly a monthly since I contacted AEI's Norman Ornstein regarding his scheduled appearance at the IFE cocktail reception at dinner at the Communist Chinese embassy. See my email to him below, asking him to address this, as it was publicized by IFE at:
http://www.instituteforeducation.org/IFE_2009.pdf
I find it very disturbing that AEI is portraying itself as concerned about the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, while Mr. Ornstein was scheduled to have cocktails at the Communist Chinese embassy and has thus far been unwilling to reply and speak out on this issue.Does Mr. Ornstein's apparent willingness to have cocktails at the Communist Chinese embassy represent the AEI's position regarding Communism in China on the cusp of the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre of freedom fighters?
If not, then I hope the AEI will be joining Responsible for Equality And Liberty's rally outside of the Communist Chinese embassy on June 4. Please advise. You can see our plans for a peaceful, but firm rally to challenge Communism at our web site at:
http://www.realcourage.org/2009/05/june-4-rally/We believe in consistency on the universal human rights of equality and liberty. When we go to the Communist Chinese embassy, it will be to provide a voice for those who were murdered for freedom, not to have cocktails with the ambassadors of Communist dictators and then to claim outrage in another forum.
I have been waiting for AEI to clarify its position on this. Please advise.
Regards,Jeffrey Imm

Subject: Norman Ornstein - Boycott May 5 IFE Event at Communist China Embassy
Mr. Norman J. Ornstein -
I urge you to publicly boycott the May 5 IFE cocktail reception and dinner at the Communist Chinese embassy in Washington DC, in remembrance of the Tiananmen Square victims of 1989.
